Here's all the old listings from What's New. Many of the links on this page have changed; this page is mostly intended as a record of when things were posted rather than a fully functional document.
April 11, 1999
- Todd posted the following:
April 8, 1999
- MerlinNJ added 37 sounds from Paradise Found, including .mp3 versions of all files.
- Todd posted the following:
April 5, 1999
- MerlinNJ added 46 sounds from If The Shoe Fits, including .mp3 versions of all files.
- A number of people have had problems installing Joxer Invaders, specifically their computers don't install the file CNCS32.DLL. I haven't figured out why this happens yet (the CNCS32.DLL file is included in the installer) but I've made a separate copy of the .dll available for download from the Xena Games page.
- I also fixed the link to the gaming area at Universal Studios on the Xena Games page.

March 31, 1999
- Todd Lindsay joined on this week to work in our Fan Fiction section and asked me to post this message:
Greetings fellow Xenites.
Thank you for being so patient these past couple months. Yes, we have some new stories for you to read! (Thanks again Joe)
For our selection this week we have:
For those writers that have sent in a final draft for submission and haven't heard from me by now (saying "Yes I have it!"), You will need you to re-submit your stories and/or poems again to editor@xenafan.com.
Well bye for now.

March 27, 1999
- Posted this week's Battle On!.
- Fan fiction... I'm still going through resumes. I've had a really tough week at work this week and haven't had a chance to go through everyone's application yet. I'll probably pick someone tomorrow.
March 22, 1999
- I've opened Tom's Xena Store, in association with Amazon.com. Buy Xena books, CDs and videos.
March 16, 1999
- There's a new program out called ICQ Plus that lets you create custom "skins" for ICQ. I've made one from the Lucy Lawless photos in Maxim that you can download from the Xena Stuff for Windows 95 page.
March 15, 1999
- Posted a new Battle On! for this week. It's an example of Jeanette's school work, and there's an animated GIF of her student film, "El Perro and the Amazing Rescue."
March 14, 1999
March 11, 1999
- Suzanne has updated her Callisto startup and shutdown screens for Windows 9x. You can download them on the very bottom of the Xena Stuff for Windows 95 page.
- Updated the Xenafan Masthead with Robin's photo and Neal's bio and photo. Be sure to say hello to all the new staffers here at xenafan.com!
- Xenites in the local area of Morristown, NJ. If
you have any of the Xena: Warrior Princess episodes on video tape, we could
sure use your help. We are trying to catch up on all the sound clips from
episodes that we do not have all the way back from Season One up to the
current Season Four. If you have these on VHS video tape, please Email
Neal Vanderhoof (NealVan557@worldnet.att.net). Thanks!!
March 8, 1999
- Daniel Hobe (dhobe@ucsd.edu), after a lot of hard work has converted the image archive into a searchable database! Be sure to update your links to the main image page from www.xenafan.com/images/ to www.xenafan.com/gallery/images_sql.php3. You'll now be able to search for images in more than one episode at once (to find all the Autolycus pictures, for instance, just search for "aut"). To search for all images in a given episode just choose the episode from the pull-down list and leave the search field blank. Robin's working on capturing more images and in a week or two we should start getting new pictures.
March 5, 1999
- I finally updated the Airdates page. I have the USA schedule through April listed, and all regular broadcast Xena episodes through the season finale on May 17th listed.
- New Battle On! cartoon. Check it out here.
Jeanette also wanted me to post this:
Greetings fellow Xenites. First of all I'd like to apologize for the
dearth of new Battle On! comics for the last bit. I have been
embroiled in projects here in the animation program and am now embarking on
our last project of the year, a 30 second piece of animation. (mine is
the adventures of a swashbuckling chihuahua named El Perro. I may send
some stills of the production as it progresses to Tom.)
At any rate, I have some new toons that are getting cleaned up and will
shortly be up on the Battle On! page in the upcoming weeks. Fear not!
I'd also like to address some comments I received about the now hideously
infamous xjatg75...the silhouette cartoon where a dig is made about
Gabrielle/Joxer fanfic. The cartoon for me was initially an exercise in
silhouette... could I make the images 'read' solely in black and white.
While the writing could easily be construed as a pot shot at the writers
specifically, my interpretation of the cartoon (and since I'm the writer
and cartoonist) was to spoof the reaction that alt fanfic writers got a
little over a year ago.
I *also* maintain that is exactly the reaction that Gabrielle and Xena
WOULD have to Gabrielle and Joxer fanfic. Does this invalidate the work of
G/J writers? Absolutely not. Everyone is entitled to their own view of
the Xenaverse.
However, I was supremely unprepared for the reaction I got with that
cartoon, one irate fan going to far as to compare the CARTOON to the
attack on Pearl Harbor. Without thinking I lashed back, throwing another
dig at the Joxer fans in my updated FAQ. I apologize for this. I have
*never* done a cartoon with the intention of specifically alienating a
specific group of fans.
I also maintain that when I called Joxer fans 'rabid', it was NOT a dig.
I am a self described 'rabid fan' of animation, movies, etc and I also
consider myself to be a 'rabid' Xenafan. It is the same reversal of terms
that now makes 'wicked' a compliment. "That's wicked!"
I meant that Joxer fans were quite devout and very vocal about their
feelings and their favorite bumbling warrior wannabe.
To any and all who have taken offense, I offer my sincerest apologies.
To those who have expressed delight in the cartoon. I'm glad that you
enjoyed it.
Back to work.

- I had a problem with the links database last night and had to go live with the new version of the script before I was really ready to. A couple of the links that were added yesterday were lost, so if you added links yesterday be sure to verify that your links are there, if not please resubmit them at the Xena Links page.
March 4, 1999
- Sounds editor... I'll be announcing it later this weekend, but we're assembling a new sounds staff and we'll get back to adding sounds from all the episodes that have been missed.
- I re-uploaded the Xenafan Screensaver, as there were problems with it running on some systems. The current download will only work on Windows 95 or 98. You can get it at the Xena Stuff For Windows 95 page.
February 22, 1999
- Staff changes. I'm still deciding on a new sounds editor, but we now have two image editors here at Xenafan.com (with a possibility for a third). Robin Thompson will be the new Image Editor and Tina Phillips will be an Associate Image Editor. WarriorHeart has has to leave, as did ROCFanatic. The image database is almost up, and we should start having some new images up very soon.
February 10, 1999
February 8, 1999
- Andrew posted the following:
February 7, 1999
February 1, 1999
- The search engine is back online again! You'll find it listed in the pulldown navigation for different pages, as well as on the bottom of this page and the main page.
January 30, 1999
- Links problem! Turns out my new links script was corrupting its database every now and then, making it so people couldn't follow the links properly. I've made a new links page, but it'll require people to login and add their own links. If I add the link for people they can't modify the listing later. Some sites I will add, and if you need to make a change on your listing please send me an email about it. I'm keeping the old links page up for a short time while we transition to the new engine. It's a searchable one, and has categories like Yahoo!, so I think you'll like it much better. Check it out at www.xenafan.com/links2/
January 26, 1999
January 25, 1999
- I've created a new screensaver, Callisto: Warrior Queen. This one features the mp3 to "The Wrath of Callisto" and has 38 of Hudson's best photos. You can download it directly or from my Windows 95 stuff page. Note, this won't work on Windows NT due to a long filename issue, I'll post a NT4 version tonight.
January 24, 1999
- Image Editor: I'm looking for a new Image Editor to help out here at Xenafan.com, and a couple of Associate Image Editors to help out the primary Image Editor. The Image Editor needs to have a video capture card that can capture quality images at 640 x 480 pixels at least. They should also be proficient in HTML (nothing advanced, I can give you a template) and would be responsible for posting the images and HTML for each episode. The Associate editor also needs a good capture card, but doesn't necessarily need to know much HTML (it's the responsibility of the Image Editor to either code each page or train the Associates on how to do it). Ideally I'd like a small staff so that no one person has to capture images from each episode.
- WarriorHeart added 24 sounds from Past Imperfect and 11 sounds from Keys to the Kingdom to the Xena Sounds section.
- Emily added 28 sounds from Royal Couple of Thieves to the Xena Sounds section.
- It's a lazy rainy day here in NYC and I decided to convert two of my old flash films into screensavers. You can download either Da Da Da or Pac-man from my Windows 95 stuff page.
January 19, 1999
- Playing around with the Comet Cursor on the site. I don't know if I'll keep it, but it's something fun to try. I'd use it with custom Xena cursors, but they charge $1500 a MONTH for the ability to do that, while using their stock cursors are free. If they bug you too much drop me a line or if you really like them drop me a line.
- Fixed some images that weren't linking properly on Moxie and Lady Jane Grey's Web Page. They also won an award!
January 18, 1999
- Posted this week's Battle On! comic. This will be the last one for a while until Jeanette has time to make some more for the site.
January 15, 1999
- Added the bio of one of our Assistant Fan Fiction Editors, Shine, to the Masthead. Drop by to meet one of the people bringing fan fiction to you.
January 13, 1999
- Andrew has done the following:
January 5, 1999
January 4, 1999
- I'm setting up a new links page. The old one will be retired this week, being replaced by a new dynamic links page. Be sure to update your bookmarks to www.xenafan.com/links/cougalinks.cgi.
- Andrew , the new Fan Fiction Editor, has redesigned the look of the fan fiction area! Be sure to check it out, he's done a great job! Additionally he posted the following stories:

- Fan fiction editor chosen! There were a number of really good candidates, but I've chosen Andrew Ramirez (ksaar09@tamuk.edu) of Andrew's Xenaverse to be our new editor. Shannon's still considered an associate editor, and she'll still work on our database, but Andrew will be the head honcho now.
- Joe Murphy (joemurphy@email.com) did the following:
December 16, 1998
- New beta screensaver! I've got a new program that lets me make Flash movies into screensavers. I've made one (still in beta) that plays an mp3 from Destiny while cycling through 29 different photos. Download it here, or get it at my Xena Stuff for Windows 95 page. Note: it only works in Windows 95/98 or NT, not in Windows 3.1.
December 11, 1998
- New fan fiction editor! Shannon's swamped with work and Joe has been helping us with his free time, but we need a good full-time fan fiction editor here at Xenafan.com. You need to have a love of fan fiction, a solid understanding of HTML (especially tables and frames) and a bunch of free time! ;-) If you're interested, drop me a line. Please include sample URL's of some of your work.

- Wedding page! My adorable wife Betsy has prepared a very cute page of some of our wedding photos. Drop by and take a peek at www.xenafan.com/wedding/
- Added a new Search Xenafan.com page. You'll find it on a few pages as I begin to implement it, and it will be in every pull-down menu like this in the "Help" section.
November 25, 1998
November 24, 1998

- I've rebuilt the Polls section here on the site. For now I'm just going to run the poll as a small table on the main page. You can only vote once, and please don't try to flood the server, as we have very limited bandwidth here.
November 16, 1998
- Fan fiction! Joe's posted all of the stories that were backlogged on the editor@xenafan.com email account. We're going to check if there are more stories that Shannon might have downloaded to her computer, in the meantime if you submitted a story and don't see it posted yet, please just resend it to editor@xenafan.com.
- Posted this week's Battle On! comic
- WarriorHeart added 20 sounds from Locked Up and Tied Down to the Xena Sounds section.
- Emily added 30 sounds from Warrior...Princess to the Xena Sounds section.

- Joe Murphy (joemurphy@email.com) has rejoined the xenafan.com staff as an Associate Fan Fiction Editor. He's going to start working on the backlog of stories that we have to post. Here's what he's done so far:
- Additionally, we're looking for new people to help us out with HTML coding of the stories. If you'd like to volunteer to be an Associate Fan Fiction Editor, please either email me or Joe Murphy and let us know how much HTML you know and any sites you've worked on.
November 12, 1998
- WarriorHeart added 14 sounds from LL's interview with Conan O'Brian to the Xena Sounds section.
- Cool new browser! Ok it's really not a new browser, per se, but the NeoPlanet browser rocks! You can download it for free at www.neoplanet.com. Basically it's a shell for your Internet Explorer on the PC, but lets you use "skins" for the browser like in WinAmp or MacAmp. Very cool! My favorite skin? Implant!
- Compaq! Check out my latest Shockwave Flash piece at www.compaq.com/prosignia/. It took me a while to make, but it was a lot of fun. I love my job!! :-D

October 12, 1998
- Posted this week's Battle On! comic
- WarriorHeart added 16 sounds from Adventures in the Sin Trade (Part 2) to the Xena Sounds section.
- I promised earlier that I'd give a report on hosting places that people could try other than Simplenet, I'd like to recommend Altaway Technologies. I don't use them myself, but from all the sites I checked out they were definately the best. They declined to host me as I was too big & did too much traffic, but they should be fine for everyone else.
I made a little Danger Girl page for my screensaver (yeah, it's not Xena, but it's fun! :-)

- I updated Xena Breakout to version 1.2 on my Xena Games page. This incudes two bug fixes. First, when the chakram drops off the bottom of the screen it'll reappear and pause for two seconds before starting to drop. Second, I fixed the path to the help file so that you can actually view it from within the application now. The installer was made with InstallShield Express so it should be a more stable installer/uninstaller as well.
- Emily added 26 sounds from Cradle of Hope to the Xena Sounds section.
September 18, 1998
- Added Emily Walker's bio to the Masthead. Guess who was a marching Xena in the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras? :-)
- Emily added 27 sounds from Prometheus to the Xena Sounds section.

- Added the photos from the Aussie Rolling Stone to page 8 of the Official Images section and to the Poteidaia Post Office.
- Blackfell (gallery@xenafan.com) added one new picture by Lunar to the Xena Art Gallery
- Saul Trabal had his last fan art posted and wanted to say this to everyone:
I am retiring as a Xena fan artist. I just sent Daniel Hobe my final
Lucy portrait. These 6 Lucy pieces were just experiments in color. 5 of
them I wanted to do as totally original Lucy portraits. They were based
on the photos I took of her in GREASE. I will never do any Xena fan art
ever again.

- There's a new staffer here at xenafan.com! Lillian Hall has agreed to be an associate sounds editor for us working with WarriorHeart to help us get the entire first season's worth of sounds. We could still use another sounds person or two and someone who could help Christine capture images would be a great help as well. Interested? Drop me a line and we'll talk.

More about linking: A few people have written in with concerns about linking to stories, or to my links page or whatnot. For the most part that's fine. The BIG problem is when people are linking to individual images, sounds, or quicktime clips or linking to a section of my site and claiming it as their own. If you're just linking to a section and aren't misleading people into thinking it's part of your site I don't have a problem with it. Again, the big problem is linking to multimedia files directly, not linking to sections of my website.
August 30, 1998
- I've updated my Xena Breakout game to version 1.1. I fixed a few minor bugs (such as the extra lives on the vampire level) and added a High Score table to the game. It also now includes an uninstall program and shouldn't have the same application errors that version 1.0 had. You can download it on my Xena Games page.
Lamer news After all the messages he's taken down his page. He sent me the following message:
Hi Thomas i'm sorry about what i did i did'nt want to steal your links but i only wanted to link the popular xenafan page agian so alot of people have a chance to visit your beatyful website that you did. I did'nt mean doing it in a bad way at all i only just linked it to your page. I'm sorry a if you did'nt like what i did. Anyway i have removed it.
The official word on linking is explained at my links page. Basically I don't mind if you use some of the files, but you need to upload them onto your own server and have a credit somewhere with a link to my page. Just linking to my files and calling it your own page is a Bad Thing, it's bandwidth theft. I wouldn't have posted this lamer if it hadn't happened so often; this was the tenth time I've had to do this. The usual procedure is to just contact your ISP and they take you down. Please ASK before using files and NEVER just link to individual files.
August 29, 1998
Lamer spotted! Drop by www.geocities.com/TelevisionCity/Studio/4251/ to see how someone stole my front page (check the title of the website) and reworked it a bit. He then linked to all my pages trying to make it look like it was all his content. Lame! Boo! If you feel like giving him a piece of your mind you can email him here or here.

- Partly updated my Xena Airdates page. I've listed all the USA episodes that have been announced although I still have to add the info for the regular syndicated eps.
- Tonight on USA cable's syndication of Xena is the most-requested least-aired episode ever, Dreamworker. This is a classic episode and hardly anyone's ever had a chance to see it, as it's the least rerun episode. Be sure to tape this one!

- This will be the last update until the move is completed. I posted this week's Battle On! cartoon. (It's just too tough to keep the two servers in sync, and I don't want to forget things on the new server and miss a file or directory)

Problem Solved!
I've found a new hosting company and will be moving xenafan.com to the new server over the next few days. We won't have any new updates while this takes place, but should return to regular production in a week or so. Once the move is completed I'll post a page of the different hosting companies I found.
Thanks to everyone who sent in tips and offers!

Important: Like others on Simplenet, I have been targeted by their new High Resource Policy. In essence it states that while they offer "unlimited space and bandwidth" if you are in the top 5% of resource users you have to pay $200/month rather than $20/month for the account.
What this means: I've written to Simplenet to see if we can work this out. If not, I'll need to find a new hosting service for xenafan.com, or it'll be coming down on June 30th. If any of you know about a hosting service for around $20-40/month that offers unlimited space & bandwidth, please let me know. If you're the sys admin at someplace that would like to help us out feel free to drop me a line.
Some usage stats: Anywhere we go we have to make sure that these stats aren't unacceptable. The website's size is just over a gigabyte. Generally we have over 7,000 individual visitors daily with around 10 gigs transferred a day.
I hope that someone out there knows of someplace or could host us at their website. Otherwise Tom's Xena Page will be closing on June 30th. The Poteidaia Post Office, Poteidaia Scroll and the Xena: Warrior Palace will all be unaffected, as they live on different servers.
Thanks,
Tom Simpson

Anyone reading this post who wants can get in right now on a special
program we are running during the launch week of the Xena Collectible
Trading Card Game - May 20th - May 23rd.
We'd like the game to be played in as many stores as possible during
May 20th - May 23rd. We know from prior experience that the first 7
days after a game is released is the critical time when a lot of
retailers and customers form a strong first impression about a TCG
that can make it a "hit" right out of the gate.
To help with that process, we are sending out Xena demo kits next week
to people who are willing to go to a store where we send them to demo
the game. We are asking for one 2-3 hour demo from each person.
To participate, send email to xenademo@wizards.com and include your
real name, mailing address and phone number in your message. We'll
send you out demo decks and instructions on where to go and what to
do. Please indicate the number of stores where you would be
interested in holding a demo.
Deadline to reply is Tuesday, May 12, by 12:00 midnight Pacific time.
We will take the first 200 people who reply on a first come, first
served basis.
Also - please email me if you would you have ideas about where else I
could post this message, such as other Xena mailing groups.
Best Regards,
Laura Carroll

Greetings and salutations fellow Xenites:
First of all I'd like to thank everyone for their emails wondering where I have been, if I'm allright and whether or not I'm dead or alive. I *am* alive...but just barely. School was absolutely monsterous at the end of the year and I've been drawing so much I think I've damaged my wrist. There have been some family problems as well so I have been very distracted as of late. Starting again next week Battle On! will resume with some extra's thrown in as an apology for my forced hiatus. Also over the summer I hope some new features will appear as well as a new Pick the Wisecrack contest. My summer address for those who wish to request prints is
86 South 350 East
Farmington UTAH 84025
Those who have ordered cels and prints...they will be in the mail this week. Again I apologize to everyone and thank everyone who has emailed me expressing concern.

Dear Friends,
After much serious contemplation and consultation with the gods, I've
decided to pass the editor's baton on to another faithful Xenite. As you
know, my recent apartment fire has disrupted life for weeks and although
things are beginning to return to normal in day-to-day life, my
professional obligations are so far behind schedule I must devote all my
time to getting caught up. It isn't fair to make you all wait for the
latest fan fiction while I do that.
In my almost-year as editor meeting each of you has given me great
pleasure. There is no better place to share our love of the Warrior
Princess than here at Tom's. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all.
I have no intention of disappearing from the Xenaverse so I will be
"seeing" you all online and together, we will always battle on.
Cheers, Rana

Dear Friends, ***NEW FICTION ALERT***
Thanks so much for your patience and words of encouragement as I've gotten my

out a new indexing system just before life turned upside down for me. Until
that is worked out, I'll be posting batches of fiction by date. The link for

- Here's a note from Rana :
Dear Friends,
Each day my mailbox has been filled with words of encouragement, support, and admonitions to "battle on" from fellow Xenites. Thank you all. Your thoughts and intercessions with the gods have helped more than you can know. As soon as I catch up on the work that was cast aside in the aftermath of the fire I will happily return to the business of fan fiction. I am delighted to report my desktop computer survived with only a fried modem that has now been replaced. Please be patient just awhile longer. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and it isn't the on-coming train.

- Jeanette (battleon@xenafan.com) sent me this week's Battle On! comic and the following note:
Hi everybody,
First of all I'd like to thank everybody who has written me during my forced hiatus from Battle On! The concern about my health, life, student status and everything in between has been touching (one of my favorite emails was wondering if I had gotten iced in here in Canada.) It's very nice and gratifying to know that the strip has indeed been missed.
I have been rather swamped with school. Here at Sheridan College the approach is rather Darwinian and they believe in going after the first years with bared fangs. IE: I've been BUSY!
I've also been doing some Battle On! cartoons for a special section in an up and coming Xena book. These toons will only be seen in this book so make sure and check it out when it hits the stands. You can email the publisher at www.ecw.com to pester them for more details.
Finally...I apologize sincerely for the lapse in Battle On! cartoons. It was mostly due to some poor planning with my school schedule but that problem has been rectified and the strip is back and running.
Think of the last four weeks as well...reruns I guess. Hey...even we poor starving cartoonists need a brief hiatus now and then. ;)
Battle On! everybody! :)

She's going to be assembling a staff to help her code the fan fiction faster, and we should start uploading new stories shortly. Thanks for your patience through this, and I know she'll be doing a good job. Please send her any stories you're working on. Rana has also sent a message to everyone:
Thanks to all who have emailed their congratulations for my new position as Editor-in-Chief of fan fiction. As you can well imagine, I've inherited quite a backlog of material. I am in the process of choosing a staff and working with the manuscripts. There are so many that in some instances I am reverting to my old copy editor ways, printing out the stories, and marking them by hand. As a result, I may contact you for a snail mail address and ask that you make the electronic corrections and resend the file in the interest of speeding things up. The cleaner the files I send to the coders, the faster your work will appear. For shorter manuscripts, a fax number may be requested. I know how hard fan fiction authors work to get their ideas on paper and I assure you I'll work just as hard on this end to help you polish that work. When Tom has time to get my bio on the masthead you will discover I am both a professional editor and college professor, so trust that I will treat your work with care. Looking forward to meeting you all.

MaryD's leaving. After a very long stint as editor here at Tom's Xena Page, she's leaving for some much needed-rest. In the short-term, this means if you have a story you want posted, just hold onto it for the moment until I can find a new editor. If YOU want to be that insane editor, coding all the fan fiction here, then please email me with a few of your web site URL's as samples of your work.
Thank you MaryD! You've done a wonderful job and will be missed.

- Created a new form to enter the Battle On Pick the Wisecrack Contest. My server at electrolite.com was cutting off the bottom of the HTML page as each new entry was received, so I had to rework the page in Simplenet's new HTML Script. All of the old entries have been retained, but you might want to re-enter again to be on the safe side. Sorry for any inconvienience, it was just too popular for the server there to handle. :-)
August 13, 1997
August 12, 1997
- Added a new shareware item under the "Icons" section of my Windows 95 page, as well as updating the links to the Power Toys and Service Pack 1
- Added the "Xena Party Weekend Extravaganza" to the Fests and Conventions page
- Alright kiddos, it's time to announce the Battle On! Contest. Jeanette has drawn a lovely cartoon, but there is no caption, no text for the cartoon. This is where you come in. I have set up a bulletin board where you can post your own caption for the cartoon. Jeanette will be monitoring the message board, and she will choose the winner (contest ends September 1, 1997.) Be sure to read the rules once you get over there. The contest will also be linked on all of the Battle On! pages with this graphic:
August 11, 1997
- Posted this week's Battle On! comics. Stay tuned for an exciting new contest involving "Battle On!"....
- Posted Maggie's Amity Reborn

Announcements:
- IMPORTANT! All of the fan fiction files have moved! The indices used to retrieve the story are the same, but all stories are now stored in a "content" subdirectory. This will vastly speed up download times of the main fan fiction site. This means that all links to stories not directly from the archive will come up as not found. I'll fix the links from this What's New page, but the old What's New will have incorrect links.
As a general rule, if a story comes up as not found for the next day or two, just add "content/" after the word "fiction" in the URL and before the filename. (i.e. http://www.xenafan.com/fiction/foo.html becomes http://www.xenafan.com/fiction/content/foo.html).
But Tom, why?? The fan fiction archive was too slow, mainly because so many of you were submitting such wonderful stories. To your browser, when you wanted to load the fiction index, it had to search through a massive directory to find the file "index.html". The fewer files in the directory, the faster it will load. So, the archive will be a much faster one now. BE SURE TO RELOAD YOUR BROWSER WHEN VISITING THE FAN FICTION ARCHIVE.
- Jeanette is considering making a run of Battle On! t-shirts, and needs to know how many people would be interested in getting one. Write to Jeanette and let her know if you'd be interested in a t-shirt.
-
Editor's Note (from MaryD):

A special thanks to Becky Wright, who's tirelessly been coding away at the backlog of SIXTY stories still to come. Here's the next few stories:
March 16, 1997
- Created a new Biographies page. Currently there are only slightly modified copies of the MCA bios available, but look for these to be modified and expanded soon, also other stars such as Hudson Leick will recieve biographies. If you consider yourself a good researcher and biographer, and would like to write a biography for any of the Xena stars, please e-mail me and we'll talk about it.
- There's some very important new news at the New York Xenafest page. Looks like we now have over 200 people attending, and there's a chance to win fabulous prizes on Friday the 21st, drop by and read the news.

- And some stories, too.

- New York Xenafest info: I created the Xenafan.com Message Board. It works just like the NetForum, although it doesn't look as funky. Eventually you can use it as an alternate Forum if you're so inclined, but right now it's main purpose is to help organize the room/ride shares for the Xenafest.
If you're coming from out of town, and want to share a room, just put a subject line of something like "Looking for male or female roomate for Friday or Saturday night" or whatever you'd like. For rides, be sure to put where you're coming from in the subject line, and whether you need a ride or can offer a ride.
- Posted another clip on the Xena Quicktime Library, a classic one where Xena, in Callisto's body, reaches out to stop Gabrielle...
- MCA finally released the schedule for the next few weeks, so I updated the Xena Airdates page

A great big "HUZZAH" for our friend Becky Wright who's been helping me catch up with all the fan fiction. We still have a way to go, but she's helping me dig myself out of the pit I'm in currently. Look for lots more in the coming days/weeks.
No major updates today, just adding a .gif from Yahoo Internet Life magazine, and to let you know that my computer is finally arriving here in Brooklyn! So on Tuesday I'll be reunited with my computer Zorak, and I'll once again be able to digitize sounds & images, so look for large updates in the fan fiction first this next week, and then new sounds and images.
February 10, 1997
February 9, 1997
Sorry there's been no major updates this weekend, I just got an apartment so I've been off shopping for things like futons, furniture, etc. Becky Wright is helping me catch up on the fan fiction coding; there are many stories to be posted soon.
- Long overdue, I added a new resource, the Xena Mailing List page. It's a list of the different Xena e-mail discussion groups and how to subscribe and unsubscribe to them.

Note: I corrected the address for Word Warrior on her stories. I inadvertantly had her e-mail address as WordWarrior@aol.com rather than WordWarior@aol.com (with only one "R"). She wants you to know she wasn't being rude, she just never got her messages sent to WordWarrior@aol.com. If you liked her story and wrote to her about it, she'd love it if you could write to her again.
