Darkness and Light

A scene by a roadway,
Two figures converse,
One is innocent and golden,
The other dark of soul and body.

A choice is made, a path is set,
The two join as friends,
And Fate takes a look,
And smiles at its work.

Friendship grows and blossoms,
Time moves one,
The dark becoming lighter and
Vice versa, until two souls are one.

Friendship turns to love,
Two souls enjoin and share each other,
The dark and the light are now
Merely shades of grey.
